Dr. Adams provides services for a broad range of concerns such as stress, depression, anxiety, panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and interpersonal challenges such as life transitions and bereavement. Her individual treatment approaches include cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) and emotion focused therapy (EFT).
Dr. Adams also works with couples and draws on a range of couple therapy approaches, such as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Integrative Behavior Couples Therapy (IBCT). She participated as a therapist in Dr. Greenberg and Dr. Malcolm’s research project about resolution of couples’ emotional injuries and frequently works with couples who have experienced a breach of trust in their relationship.
Dr. Adams has been working in private practice settings for nearly twenty years providing services for individuals and couples. She is also a guest lecturer on topics such as self-esteem, post-traumatic stress disorder and couple therapy.
